A big “shout out” to Juli Ghazi for entering her Central Avenue Pure Pizza as the first business registrant for this year’s Yard Art Day! Juli has always been a dedicated community-involved person and supporter of Yard Art Day since the beginning. If you own or manage a business with a street-viewable location, Yes, your business can participate too!
Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the ASC we have YAD signs this year earlier than ever. If you have signed up to participate this year – come grab a sign (be sure to get a hanger/stand too) off my side front porch. Let’s get them in your yards now to spread the word about Yard Art Day. Let people know you are going to have some art in your yard. This really helps keep this project alive and kickin’.
We are gearing up early this year for Yard Art Day 2016 (Labor Day, September 5). The new Yard Art Day signs should be ready for pick up in about two weeks. We’ll do a post here and on our Facebook page when and where you can come get your own. Reminder – signs are only for those participating. Great news, YAD-ists! The Arts & Science Council has signed on as the sponsor for Yard Art Day this year. We could not be more excited! This will help pay for the signs plus some other expenses. This helps keep this event free and open to all.
We’re gearing up early this year for Yard Art Day 2016 (Labor Day – Monday, September 5). And I have some exciting news. We got a sponsor! It was always one of my goals to get all neighborhoods and neighbors connected through Yard Art Day. Art should be democratic and open to all to view as well as create on any level with any artistic medium. So I’m hoping this year to see it spread and connect us.
Well .. it’s like this. This year, I ran into some of life’s glitches that threw my schedule way out of whack. As a result I ran out of time to get the signs designed, printed and time to raise the funds to pay for signage. So instead of feeling defeated or disappointed I instead am opting to ask you all to do the following …
